Lover's of the Groove

Thought it might be fun to have a place for those of us who create music on many instruments, but perhaps, like me, don't exactly have what you'd call a great instrument of voice. America's Next Idol I'm not. Oh, I've tried!, but I never took voice lessons or choir and even though I can hit a pitch most of the time, some prominent and quality singers throughout the years have reminded me, with regards to my singing, "Dude, don't quit yer day job". Having said that, I hope that this could a forum for all to join in and have fun with. Perhaps, it might be a good place to find partners to collaborate with.
Lyracists and singers most welcome!
Any and all styles welcome

Could someone please remove the member that is sending out spam, I got 3 emails from Moiko saying get a free $1,000 WalMart gift card and a link to a scamming site. Thanks for looking into this.

Thanks very much for friendship... I like this opportunity to share our worlds...
The Life of a man is made up of a series of dreams which write our history, as well as our children, who then start to write their own. I decided to continue writing mine as soon as I began to dream in early childhood. One doesn't need to stop the journey along the way.
It is necessary to believe that the stars which light our way will never go out, and to continue to follow our dreams which inspire us in the most beautiful moments of our lives. If not, why is my star helping me to write so many fine melodies? I composed a suite for my dream,
called " Melody for an Oscar", and I am convinced that one day someone will help me to reach for that Oscar in Hollywood, which I have always imagined in my dreams. No matter what, my dreams have enhanced my musical creativity, and for that I am thankful.

I recently decided to start doing some instrumentals in my cover band. It has always been something that I love, but playing instrumentals for that type of gig is challenging. Picking the right songs is crucial if you don't want to fall on your face with the audience, and the man who pays your group at the end of the night. I have also learned from past experiences that doing too many instrumentals in one evening can be the wrong thing to do. I guess I love challenges, otherwise I wouldn't be thinking this way. So help me out,I want to hear from everyone, what "instrumental covers" do you think would be thought of by the general public as the cool ones to play? Let's make a songlist! I have started a discussion for this purpose!

I agree with Sugar Bear. When I write a song it all comes to me at once.. lyrics & melody. Otherwise... its just poetry. I can write lyrics for someone else's music but its difficult to find the time to commit. I don't like doing it. I think that some songs were just meant to be instrumental. Adding anything else is sacrilege! Sometimes you feel like a nut (lyrics)... Sometimes you don't. (smile) But I can definitely add Spoken Word to anybody's music. As you well know Mr. Bill. LOL But I like it best when you pick the poem from my play book to suit your music. Its always a good match. You've got great taste & we make a great team!
