Beautiful Briana was born in Atlanta, Georgia on November 17, 1989. At the tender age of four, the doctor's informed Beautiful's mother that she was deaf/hearing impaired. Beautiful was young, but devastated, ashamed, and hurt. Other family members viewed her hearing impairment as a bad or ugly thing. This is when her mother reminded her of her name "Beautiful" because she saw her hearing impairment as "beautiful" and encouraged her that she had nothing to be ashamed of or hurt about - God doesn't make mistakes. Through the inspiration of her mother and her strong faith in Jesus Christ,Beautiful remained in mainstream schools. Against all odds, Beautiful was determined not to be defeated by anything or anyone and conquered all of the negativity that tried to subdue her. She began dancing at age five andlater joined the gospel singing group "Dear Children" where she choreographed all the routines. She attended McGarrah Elementary in Morrow, Georgia where she was an honor roll student and at age ten, she won her first beauty pageant being crowned "Miss McGarrah." She attended Mundy's Mill Middle School in Jonesboro, Georgia where she was the first deaf/hard of hearing cheerleader. She went on to Kennesaw Mountain High School where she was an honor roll student, BETA Club member, cheerleader captain, and dance team member. Beautiful placed 1st Runner-Up in the Miss Deaf Georgia Pageant in 2007 and in 2008 she graduated from high shcool with honors. That same year she attended Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. on a full four year academic scholarship. While there, she consistently maintained an outstanding G.P.A. that earned her cash awards and plaques each semester, she won several writing contests, she traveled to Costa Rica to work with deaf children, she worked as a student intern for the United States Senate for congressman Sherrod Brown, she started her own dance crew "BWA", she was crowned Miss D.C. , and in 2009 she was crowned Miss Black Deaf America in Scottsdale, Arizona. Beautiful has experienced many prejudices because of her hearing impairment and works diligently each day educating other to be more considerate and loving. She is committed to the success of all people. Beautiful continues to build her music career as an aspiring entertainer as all of her music includes sign language.
