My musical creations come from inspirations I've gotten from life and from listening to others. Described as "jazz/fusion", it's a bit of jazz fused with elements of blues, country, rock and other influences from over the years. You might say, I am mainly a "Band of One" today, with the occasional projects that come my way from collaborating with other musicians I have met from around the world and on the internet. I grew up in the American midwest near Cleveland, Ohio. I started playing the clarinet at the age of nine, and studied both classical music and jazz throughout my school years. Participating in one musical adventure or another has remained the centerpiece of my life. Sometimes as a hobby, and sometimes for a living, I've always strived to add to my craft over the years through learning new instruments and experinece. I joined my first pro band at the age of 16, playing alto sax in a 15 piece swing band until I graduated from high school. After a couple of years of college and the military, I traveled from Ohio to New Orleans to play, eventually gypsying my way westward to the beaches of southern California. I worked with several song writers in and around L. A. for nine years in the late 80's early 90's, in "garage" bands and studios or just standing in as a guest with friends, playing in various clubs in and around the LA area. Thanks to my roommate and his 8 track reel to reel, I also learned a lot about the creative process and recording techniques. Regretfully, I had to take a break for a while, almost retiring from music altogether in the mid 90's. Living the "party life" had nearly cost me everything, and I knew I had to make a change in lifestyle or I'd never live to see the next century. So I moved to Denver, where I live now, and cleaned up my act! I have kept my craft going through writing new material and recording my compositons in my home studio. I also perform live with a contemporary Christian worship team. Among the instruments I play (but by no means have mastered!!) are: Alto sax, clarinet, keyboards, acoustic/electric/bass guitar, and harmonica. My percussion tracks are a combination of live (special thanks to my friend and partner on Easton Fusion Corp Robert Waddington ), looped, and creations that I write from software programs. Today, I am also exploring the new internet music frontier as a means of sharing my art with the world. http://moikonetwork.ning.com/profile/MoikoShowcase http://moikonetwork.ning.com/profile/GospelTruth http://moikonetwork.ning.com/profile/InstrumentalSongsoftheSpirit http://moikonetwork.ning.com/profile/SoothingBluesCharityCDCompilation
