Meet Queenie and the Blue Cats, a professional electric blues band that hit the Wisconsin music scene full throttle in 2005. Described as playing “ blues so tasty you don’t need no sauce”, Queenie and the boys quickly built a following playing at many blues clubs and festivals in the area, and won the 2007 MAMA Award for Blues Album of the Year for their debut CD, Live at Milo’s Place and in 2009 again received the Madison Area Music Award for Blues Album of the Year for their second disc,Another Blue Day. The band has been honored with nominations for Entertainer of the Year, Blues Artist of the Year and Cover Band of the Year for 2007 and in 2009 were named Blues Performer of the Year. With Queenie McCarter-Wade on vocals, Joe Dieter on guitar, Scott Lukomski on bass and Bill Cheadle on drums, this band puts on a stage show you won’t want to miss.Queenie has studied, recorded and shared the stage with many notables including Sony Music's Bradley Fish, Barrelhouse Chuck, Kenny"Beedy Eyes" Smith, Watermelon Glover, John Primer, Bluesman Paul Filipowicz, Billy Branch,Oscar Wilson, Tom Holland, Roger Collins and the Blue Birds,Billy Flynn, Paradox, Big Red Wright, and the late Windmill Washington.
