Robert Tiernan's Page

Hello fellow music makers and fans. I'm a guitarist (mainly) and composer who is into many styles of expression through music. I've done everything from jazz to rock to fusion to punk to cover bands. I'm not into any particular style of music, but more into individuals who really have something of their own to say. I am hoping that this new age we are entering extends into the world of the creative arts, which in my opinion has been severely lacking for years and years. Just as our leaders are "reaching across the aisle," so should we as artists. We should stop being a certain type of musician that only has interest in one style of music and take what we do and put it in to as many different soundscapes as we can. We need to stop trying to sound like something that already exists and come up with our own way of expressing ourselves. This was how it was during the best days of popular music, when you could turn on the radio and hear everything from ABBA TO ZAPPA, as I like to say. Let's try to make music interesting and inspiring so that we want to get a real stereo system and turn off the lights (unless it's a black light!) and really get inside of what we are hearing - and take the trip...
