Let's talk.

It goes without saying that there are a lot of very talented aspiring, emerging, and seasoned artists within this site. It is my fortune and pleasure to be in the company of such greatness and potential.

Allow me to ask, "If a producer, or promoter, or recording label (hypothetically speaking) called you today and told you that he or she was very interested in you, and wanted you to fax, email, snail mail, and/or point them to your online portfolio or press kit... Would you be prepared?"

Do you have a package or page that holds your experience, your samples, and your contact information? Is that package or page professionally designed? Have you ran your spell and grammar check on it? Have you spent the few dollars required to get it proofread and edited?

We spend countless hours preparing ourselves for that moment... Practicing. Self-promoting. Doing every thing we can to get that chance, but suppose that chance does not come in a face to face encounter. Suppose that chance comes as is so often the case these days, in a cyber form. Are you ready? Is your material ready? Does your web page drip with professionalism? Amongst your mighty arsenal of web presence is there a single page that is no nonsense and all business?

Please be concerned about your presentation. If you have no one to help you with editing or proofreading, call me. My number is readily available on the contact page at topcatlive.com. If you have pages and you want them honestly reviewed call me, email me, message me, send me a note in a bottle, cause if I'm that promoter, producer, or record label and you send me info that does not contain your phone number, or your manager's number, or a list containing all (or most of the) instances of your web presence (so I can see how the masses are responding to you), you better be the next Elvis or else.

Granted, we don't always have time. Grammar and spelling are not always our strong suit. There are people out there who specialize in these areas. Get some help. Make sure your pages are right and your information current. If you have to, pay somebody.

Make sure your page says that you are ready.

This is a really powerful tool that Moiko and others place in our hands. Maximize on it.

Remember: Success is not a given. It is reserved for those who will accept nothing less.
